Hotel V Grand celebrates the graduation of 18 young people trained for employment in tourism and hospitality in Medellín

Hotel V Grand hosted the graduation ceremony for 18 participants of the Jóvenes con Propósito en Movimiento project, an initiative aimed at increasing youth employability through technical training in tourism and hospitality, food and beverage service, life skills, and psychosocial support.

Jóvenes graduados

This program seeks to promote the economic empowerment of adolescents in Medellín—particularly migrants and host communities—through an intersectional and inclusive approach that fosters social cohesion and equitable access to opportunities.

Specialized training for employment and entrepreneurship

Participants completed a total of 86 hours of technical training delivered by the International Tourism School, along with 60 hours focused on socio-emotional development and gender-based violence prevention. This training process enables participants to access job opportunities in the hospitality sector, one of the fastest-growing industries in Medellín.

Partnerships driving youth employability

The success of this project is the result of collaboration among four civil society organizations, one international partner, one collective or association, and six affiliated companies. Together, they work toward opening pathways to employment, youth entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic development.

Hotel V Grand’s commitment to local talent

Hosting the ceremony at Hotel V Grand reinforces the hospitality sector’s commitment to developing new talent and supporting programs that drive youth progress and the growth of tourism in Medellín.

Jóvenes con Propósito en Movimiento demonstrates that through collaborative efforts, it is possible to transform lives, expand opportunities, and strengthen the city’s labor and business ecosystem.
